# Database Items

Some resources include SQL files, use `oxmysql`, or ship item definitions for supported inventories.

## SQL installation

1. Back up the database.
2. Open the SQL file supplied inside the resource's `INSTALL/` directory (if present).
3. Review the SQL and run it against the correct database.
4. Check for duplicate tables or columns before rerunning a script's SQL on an existing installation.
5. Restart the resource and review the server console.

Do not import every SQL file in the overall archive. Import only the files relevant to the resource you are installing and the framework/inventory you use.

## Inventory item registration

If the resource includes files such as `items_ox.lua`, `items_qb.lua`, `*_esx.sql`, or equivalent:

* Choose the file for your actual inventory/framework.
* Follow that inventory's current item-registration process.
* Do not register the same item twice.
* Confirm image filenames match the item names and your inventory's image directory conventions.

## Persistent data

Before removing or replacing a resource, identify its tables and JSON/data files. Deleting these may remove player-owned data, settings, records, or other persistent state.
