# Getting Started

## Before you install

1. Back up your server files and database.
2. Unzip the purchased resource and keep its folder name intact unless its product instructions say otherwise.
3. Check the resource's `fxmanifest.lua` and configuration files for required dependencies.
4. Install dependencies before starting the FIVE CUSTOMS resource.
5. Import any supplied SQL files and add required inventory items using the files provided with that resource.
6. Configure framework, inventory, target, permissions, and other integrations where applicable.
7. Add the resource to `server.cfg` after its dependencies.

## Start order

Start core framework and shared libraries first, then database/inventory/target dependencies, and finally the resource. A typical example (not universal):

```cfg
ensure oxmysql
ensure ox_lib
ensure ox_target
ensure your_framework
ensure five_resource_name
```

Only add dependencies that your particular script uses. The order above is a general example, not a complete server configuration.

## Configure and test

* Read the resource's `config.lua`, `configs/`, or JSON configuration file.
* Avoid running multiple framework cores at once unless the resource explicitly supports that arrangement.
* Test on a development server before production.
* Check both client F8 and server console for errors.
* Restart the resource after configuration changes where required.

## Updating

Back up the resource folder and database before updating. Compare your local configuration with the new version rather than overwriting custom settings blindly. Review included SQL migrations and release notes before restarting a live server.
